Grant grew up in long-term care; his family owns and operates facilities in Louisiana and Mississippi. He has twice graduated from the University of Mississippi and completed his Doctor of Public Health studies at the Samford University School of Public Health in Birmingham, Alabama. Before joining AHCA | NCAL, Grant served as an Executive Staff Officer at the Mississippi Division of Medicaid and worked as a licensed nursing home administrator. Passionate about health equity and operationalizing population health best practices, Grant is an alumnus of the Milbank Memorial Fund's Emerging Leaders Program and remains presently engaged in translational research. Grant lives in the historic Fondren neighborhood of Jackson, Mississippi, with his husband, Prentiss Franklin, their niece, three dogs, and two cats.
